Access & Policies

What are your opening hours?
6am–10pm, every day. Closed Christmas Day.
Can I use the gym as a non-member?
Yes, we offer day passes for £8 per session. You can purchase them at reception.
Do I need to book a time slot?
No, just turn up and train—no pre-booking needed.
How busy does it get during peak hours?
Peak times are weekday mornings (6:30–9am), evenings (5–8pm), and weekends (10 am–12pm). For a quieter session, come mid-morning or late evening.
What’s your policy on mobile phone use?
Music and workout tracking are fine, but calls are not permitted on the gym floor. If you’re filming or taking photos, please be mindful of others—avoid capturing people without permission and don’t block equipment or pathways.
Is there a time limit on workouts?
No, but during peak hours, be mindful of others waiting for equipment.

Membership & Payments

Do you offer day passes or short-term memberships?
Yes, day passes are £8, and we offer flexible short-term options. See our membership page for more details.
Can I freeze my membership?
Yes, you can freeze your membership for up to 4 weeks. Just let us know in advance.
Do you offer fitness classes?
We don’t offer structured classes, but our gym is fully equipped for individual training. Whether you're following your own workout or need personal training, we’ve got you covered.
What’s your cancellation policy?
We offer one-week, one-month, and one-year memberships. You must complete your minimum term before cancelling. After that, we require 7 days' notice to cancel. There are no exit fees.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept card payments (including contactless), direct debit, and cash. No cheques.

Facilities & Equipment

What kind of equipment do you have?
We have squat racks, Olympic barbells, dumbbells up to 110lbs, plate-loaded machines, cardio equipment (treadmills, bikes, rowers, etc.), a functional training area, and a yoga studio.
Do you have showers and changing rooms?
Yes, we have spacious changing rooms with showers. Please bring your own towel, shampoo, and shower gel, as we do not provide these.
Is there a sauna or steam room?
No, we don't have a sauna or steam room.
Do you provide lockers?
Yes, lockers are available—bring your own padlock or buy one at reception.
Do you have WiFi?
Yes, free WiFi is available. Ask at reception for details.

Personal Training

Do you offer personal training?
Yes, our personal trainers offer 1-to-1 coaching.
How can I book a session?
Book directly with a trainer in the gym or at reception.
Is personal training an extra cost?
Yes, personal training costs extra. Sessions start at £40 per hour. Ask at reception for more details.
Can I train with my own PT?
No, only our in-house trainers are permitted to coach in the gym.

Rules & Gym Etiquette

What’s your policy on filming or taking photos?
We allow filming and photography, but please be respectful of others—don’t capture people without their permission and avoid blocking equipment or pathways.
Are there any rules about lifting heavy or using chalk?
Heavy lifting is welcome—just use safety bars and put weights back after use. Chalk is fine, but please clean up after yourself.
What happens if I lose something in the gym?
Check at reception. Lost property is kept for 6 months before donation or disposal.
Can I use a towel in the gym?
We discourage the use of towels for hygiene reasons. Instead, we provide paper towels for you to wipe down equipment after use.
What kind of music do you play?
We play a mix of high-energy tracks to keep the atmosphere upbeat. If you'd prefer something else, feel free to bring your headphones.

Health & Safety

What are your cleaning and hygiene policies?
We deep-clean daily, and all equipment is wiped down regularly. Sanitising stations are available throughout the gym for your convenience.
Is towel use allowed?
We discourage the use of towels for hygiene reasons. Instead, we recommend using paper towels, which are provided, to wipe down equipment after use.

Accessibility

Is the gym wheelchair accessible?
Yes, we have step-free access and wide gym spaces.
Do you have accessible changing facilities?
Yes, including an accessible toilet and shower.
Are there quiet times for those who prefer a less busy gym?
Mid-mornings (10am–12pm) and late evenings (after 8pm) are the quietest times.

Parking & Location

Is there parking?
No on-site parking, but Bootham Row Car Park is a 3-minute walk away.
Do you have bike racks?
Not on-site, but there are bike racks on Bootham and Gillygate, both nearby.
What’s the nearest public transport stop?
Several bus routes stop on Bootham, a short walk from the gym.
